A few months ago, I designed a logo for B. Claire Photography, and the final reveal is looooooong overdue. (You may remember this post, where I shared an inspiration board for the design process.)
The logo design process is such a joy for me! Typically, I design 3-5 concepts for my clients to choose from, and it’s always fun hearing their feedback and their final picks. I’m so happy with the logo & submarks Beth chose, and I think the collection is a great fit for her real-life, raw, photojournalistic approach to family photography. And now, I am happy to share with you the final reveal as well as a few of Beth’s beautiful photos.
“Life is an adventure. Every adventure has a story. What’s yours? Welcome to your story.”
– B. Claire Photography
A couple months ago, an old college friend commissioned me to design a logo for her new photography business. I’ve been admiring her beautiful, organic photography style for a while now and jumped on the opportunity to work with her to create something that reflected her aesthetic. Beth’s work is photojournalistic at heart, as she photographs families in their real-life spaces, showing the beauty in the everyday, the meaning in the mundane, which is so refreshing in a perfection-obsessed world. She described her brand aspirations as “emotive, moody, raw, adventurous,” and requested that the logo include cool colors, brushed/lettered type, and an overall clean and approachable feel.
With all that in mind, I curated this inspiration mood board that helps give me a grasp of the project and a place where I can draw ideas from. We are currently narrowing down some initial logo concepts, and I can’t wait to share more of the process, and of course, the final design. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, Beth is hard at work on her new website, which will be launched this Spring, but make sure to check out her snapshots on Instagram and Facebook, as well as some of her beautiful work on her Flickr photostream.
